My New Kenwood KM

After much contemplation, today I bought the Kenwood Major 1200W at JJ (using financial support from beloved hubby)
So excited, I bake a marble cake the same night using a recipe by MatGebu @ http://tiffinbiru.blogspot.com/ (thank you).
My seriously overutilized Fujitsu Lifebook S6410 in the pic, a present from hubby too about one year ago.
(Kipas my financier sikit, I'll need to buy a lot more gadgets soon. I should bake him the french 'chocolate financier cake' one day)

Chocolate fondant teddy bear cupcake

This is the only one left, the other 2 bears gone ... couldn't resist the cuteness & the yummy chocolate

Pooh and friends cupcakes

Now, this really feels like play doh... Pooh & friends on plush beige carpet (should have use green color instead for grass). Rabbit looks strange, I know. Lesser purple color for heffaLumpy next time. I use caramel flavoring applied using lidi to draw the eyes, mouth etc...

Fondant Flowers

My first fondant roses. Can't wait for my Wilton flower kit to arrive, will help to make the petals to be of same size. Strawberry flavor and melted chocolate bar added to the fondant.

Doll Cake

Tried making the barbie cake using 3 cake tins. Next time, I'd rather spend on the Wilton mold than trying this method again. Need abt 1.2kg of batter to make a nice flowing gown.

Here Where It Begins

New Year gone, Awal Muharram & As Syura also over.
Then, during CNY I came up with a list of 5 things I'd like to start this year and will choose only one. So, this is one of it
5) Home Bake business (yes... this is the last option on the list)

What is it about new year and starting something new? Easy point of reference, I think.

Started by attending Yasmin's class in Basic Fondant & Gumpaste yesterday in Penang. My main intention of attending the class was achieved, i.e. learning how to make fondant from scratch, gumpaste not demonstrated but recipe given. Definitely need to get the heavy duty mixer soon, don't think I'll be able to knead the fondant by hand.

I'm not too concern about the decorating aspect since I'm pretty sure will rely on the gadgets from Wilton, PME etc...phew, those stuff are pricey
